Intensive English Language Institute
English classes are for credit; you may be able to graduate earlier
When you study in the Intensive English Language Institute, you receive credit for each class. Up to 18 of these credits may be applied as elective credit toward graduation from USU. For example, if your major requires 120 credits, and if you can apply 18 IELI credits as elective credit, you will be able to graduate about one semester earlier.
Some majors, engineering majors, for example, do not allow for elective credit. If you study in one of these majors, you will not be able to use IELI credits to graduate earlier.
